Together we will plan your personalized pet portrait experience. I'm here to help you from start to finish.
This is where the magic happens! Leave all worries and expectations at the door and just enjoy the experience. Your dog's only job is to be a dog!
You choose your favorites, and I'll walk you through the options as we decide how you'll most enjoy your images, often through a combination of artwork, albums, and digital files.
Dress up your walls with either a single statement piece or a collection of artwork. You'll be able to select from a variety of styles and finishes—canvas, acrylic, and metal.

This isn't your typical consumer-direct album. The thick colorful pages are seamless, meaning your images can be large and (beautifully) in charge. Image boxes hold up to twenty 8x10 prints & you're able to switch the "cover" whenever you'd like. Both the albums & image boxes are designed to look like a framed print.

Not at all! Some of my favorite portraits are of dogs standing up. And rest assured, I have a DEEP well of unique sounds and tasty treats to grab their attention-even if it's just for a split second while I capture each image.
Yes! Absolutely! Believe it or not, 95% of the dogs that I
photograph are on leash. Leashes not only keep your best pal safe, but they’re also important for following local laws when photographing in urban environments (but most sessions are at my outdoor studio). You'll never know the leash was there after I edit your images to perfection.
Depending on which session you choose, locations may differ. Most sessions will be held at our outdoor studio-70 private acres. There are many stations set up specifically for dog photography. Your dog can be in front of a 100+ year old bridge. More: Barn wood. Tin wall. Rainbow doors. Benches. Flowers. Rocks. Wood pile. "Graffiti" Wall. Pond. A mile of the blue ribbon Trout Run creek.
The "problem" will be narrowing down the choices! But that is a good problem and I'm here to help you with that!
*I do travel and some of the Limited Edition Sessions will be held at predetermined locations.
I completely understand; the world can be a scary place for all of us sometimes. Good news! Our 70 acre property is completely private. While I can’t control the squirrels or rabbits, I can assure you there won’t be any traffic or other dogs to cause your pet to get distracted more than normal.
My camera shutter speed goes all the way up to 1/8000 of a second—in other words, plenty fast enough to capture even the most active dog! Our sessions never require your dog to sit, stay and behave for hours (or even minutes) on end. One of the
benefits of hiring a pet-specific photographer is that we know how to work with “hyper” models and still deliver gorgeous images, jam-packed with personality.
Of course! I love documenting the wonderful connection between you and your dog. While we can certainly capture a traditional portrait of you both smiling at the camera, my clients especially love the candid images of the moments you share. If you're especially camera shy, I can still create some lovely, creative images that tell the story of your relationship. Trust me, it won't be as bad as you think! ;-)
While the majority of my clients are of the canine variety, I do photograph the equine and feline set from time to time (and the occasional cow!)
At Ann Wagaman Photography, it's all about the experience (think of it like a DATE with your pet) and the quality of photographs. Pictures from phones are fine for small prints but when you enlarge them, they become pixelated and lose quality. My high-end professional DSLR camera is capable of incredible things, so your photographs can be large and in charge!
The most magical light for photography happens during the “golden hour,” which is why I schedule most sessions during the last two hours of daylight. I have many different stations set up for you to choose from and they are all in the best locations with optimal light. Trust me, I spend days just walking around to look for the best dreamy light.
However, I can be a bit more flexible depending on the location and I also have lighting gear that helps give that special pop.
Welcome! If you are only able to come for the session, that is absolutely fine! We will do our Pre-Planning Session via Zoom or phone call as well as our Viewing & Ordering Session--and I am able to drop-ship any products that are purchased. That way, you are only needed to meet for the session.
Are you in need of lodging? The studio is located halfway between Rochester, MN and Winona, MN. Both have plenty of places to stay.
Looking for a smaller town feel with biking and quaint shops? Lansboro, MN is just 20 minutes away and is loaded with Airbnb options.
I will help you get all set on our pre-planning call!
The first step is to pick a date for the BIG day. After the photo session, it will take me a few days to do some light editing of the best pics of your pup. Then it's time to meet again (preferably in my showroom so you are able to get a look and feel for all the products--but we are also able to hold a Zoom call).
If you are traveling to me and staying in the area, we can make special arrangements to have your Viewing & Ordering Session earlier. We'll discuss that during our Pre-Session Consultation.
Not a problem. If you would like to minimize trips or live out of the area, I am able to drop ship the artwork products directly to you. I'm not gonna lie, one of my most favorite things is presenting the artwork in person! I have food and drinks in my showroom! Just sayin'... ;-)
That all depends on what you are looking for. Artwork starts at $500. Albums start at $1600. Digital collections start at $1200. Clients can expect to spend around $700- $1000 on artwork...some spend more, some spend less-It's your choice. I'll guide you to the best products that suit your home.
